Shankar's mega-budgeted sci-fi film '2.0' which is the sequel of the 2010 film Enthiran is not only a blockbuster but a mega-blockbuster, as Lyca productions reveals the figures of the first four days. The film has raked 200 cr in the domestic circuit itself and adding the worldwide numbers the total count has surpassed the 400 cr mark.
Sharing the news Lyca productions that have bankrolled the film tweeted, "History in the making! 400 CRORES WORLDWIDE! Not just a blockbuster, it's a MEGA BLOCKBUSTER!" Keeping the track of the Hindi version, Taran Adarsh reported that 2.0 made Rs. 95 crore out of its Hindi version. His tweet read "#2Point0 puts up a SUPERB TOTAL in its *extended* opening weekend... Biz on Day 3 and Day 4 specifically was fantastic... Thu 19.50 cr, Fri 17.50 cr, Sat 24 cr, Sun 34 cr. Total: ₹ 95 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version."
The Tamil version seems to be doing okay. The film has earned a little over Rs. 10 crore in Chennai, according to the reports. Other reports pegged the Tamil Nadu collections to approximately Rs. 60 crore and the collections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is between Rs. 52 crore and Rs. 55 crore.
The film stars the antagonist Akshay Kumar battling Rajinikanth and the subject of film is worth it. The film also stars Amy Jackson and Adil Hussain in supporting role. The visual effects-heavy film was made on a rumoured budget of more than Rs. 500 crore and looks like the makers have already earned their ROI.
