Pahlaj Nihalani just asked to trim down a scene from 'UnIndian'

2nd August 2016

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is making news for quite a long period now. Recently 'Mohenjo Daro' passed the test with zero cuts despite the inclusion of love-making scenes. Now the Censor Board has asked the makers of the film 'UnIndian' to trim down a love making scene between Cricketer Brett Lee, who is making his Bollywood debut with this film and actress Tannishtha Chatterjee.

Censor chief Pahlaj Nihalani said, "The sequence showed the lead pair making love intercut with shots of a guru chanting mantras. But we never asked them to delete it, just to trim it. Instead, Anupam did away with it. That sequence now just has a suggestion of lovemaking and not the act itself. Even the hero's nude shot has been removed."

He added, "It's one of those things where it's at a discretion of who is in charge. The thing I will say that is the couple involved-an Indian actress, an Indian producer, born in India. It was their judgement. If the scene goes away you have to understand the culture and people."

'UnIndian' is an Australian romantic comedy film directed by Anupam Sharma and also stars Supriya Pathak, Akash Khurana and Gulshan Grover in pivotal roles. It will release on August 19, 2016.
