Social media savvy author and columnist turned producer Twinkle Khanna began her producer career from Akshay Kumar starrer 'Padman' that was based on the untalked subject of Women's menstrual hygiene. Now Mrs funny bones will be producing yet another film on the same subject, although this would be a short film titled 'First Period'. Directed by Zubaan (2016) fame director Mozez Singh, the film will be launched at all the social media platforms today on World Menstrual Day.

The film showcase this never talked about subject of a girl's first period from a boy's point of view and emphasize the trouble that females do go through. The makers of the film decided to take Twinkle's feedback as she was the first woman to make menstrual hygiene a topic of conversation.

Talking about the making of First Period, Director Mozez Singh said, "When I was approached by Dasra, the NGO behind the film alongside The Gates Foundation, their brief was they wanted men to be involved in the conversation about menstrual hygiene. So, we wrote a script where we showed everything from a man’s point of view and how in that world it's all perfect and empowering. It raises the question why can’t this happen in a woman’s world and forces you to neutralise gender disparity. First Period is another voice in that conversation."
