After a decade of confusion and going back and forth on options, we finally have a winner who has bagged the coveted lead role in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus film 'Bajirao Mastani'. 

The historical love story is SLB's dream project that was originally supposed to have Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play the title characters. 

In recent times it was reported that either Shah Rukh Khan or Ajay Devgn might bag the role. But beating them all, Ranveer Singh has finally signed the film. 

According to the strong buzz in the industry it has been confirmed that Ranveer who played 'Ram' in SLB's last blockbuster film 'Ram-Leela', will also be his Bajirao in SLB's most ambitious film till date. Sanjay shares a great relationship with Ranveer citing the success of their last film. 

While Ranveer has been finalized to play the lead, the confusion over the leading lady is still making headlines. 

While Deepika Padukone's name has been ruled out as SLB doesn't want to repeat the chemistry between Ranveer and Deepika, he is apparently toying with the idea of casting Katrina Kaif considering the fact that the two haven't worked together before. 

The pairing of Ranveer-Katrina not only will create buzz but will also add the novelty factor to the film. However, no one has been finalized yet. 

It remains to be seen which 'Mastani' from Bollywood eventually bags this film.
