The makers of 'Soorma' based on the real-life of Hockey legend Sandeep Singh are out with a motion poster of the film featuring Taapsee Pannu in team India's national Hockey kit. The actress is seen sporting the brightest of smile and the bold texts that flow on to the motion poster is 'A Daughter, A Sportsperson and A Brave Spirit.'
Taapsee plays the role of Harpreet aka Preet, who is a daughter, a sportsperson and a brave spirit. Diljit's love interest from the film. The 30-year-old shared the motion poster on her official Twitter handle and captioned it,"For my undying love for sports and my country. The film tells the tale of an incredible Hockey legend Sandeep Singh, who was seriously injured after being hit by an accidental gunshot in Shatabadi train, while on his way to join the national team due to leave for the World Cup in Germany two days later. The player was in a wheelchair and paralysed for two weeks. Post the incident, Sandeep not only recovered but also made a place in the national team.
Bankrolled by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangada Singh and Deepak Singh and directed by Shaad Ali and also features Angad Bedi in a key role.
Soorma is set to hit screens on July 13 and will clash with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor-starrer 'Fanne Khan'.
