A script can make or destroy a star, says Dhanush

3rd February 2015

National award winner, Dhanush made his debut in Bollywood with the film, 'Raanjhanaa' (2013), in an unconventional role. It was a risk that not many established stars would've dared to pick as a debut film in some new industry. But Dhanush was game for the risk and fortunately he was successful with it.

His next Bollywood release too is an unseal film that has stirred huge interest in audiences. Talking about all his choices, he confesses that he looks for something new, every time.

"I look for a strong script. I believe that a script can make or destroy a star. So, I look for such a script, and then give it my all," he says.

Talking about his forthcoming film, 'Shamitabh', Dhanush assures that audiences will find it different.

"The concept of the film is brilliant. The story is strong and fresh. R. Balki (director) had a new story to tell. These days, one can't say that the story is new; most of them have already been told. But it’s different with Shamitabh," says Dhanush.

This National Award-winning actor still calls himself an "aspiring actor" in real life. "There's so much to be learnt. Every time you become complacent, God gives you one tight slap. I hope this learning never stops," he adds.
