October 1, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bipasha Basu and Ajay Devgn starrer upcoming movie Akrosh has received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CFBC). It has also been suggested to go for about five dialogue cuts. Akrosh is based on honor killings that have taken place in India in the past year. Alpana Pant Sharma, regional officer of CBFC, Mumbai, has confirmed the news and stated that the movie has some dialogues, which are a little derogatory towards Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and women. She added that such lines have been asked to be deleted from the movie. The officer further informed that the A rating has been accepted by the producer and director and they have well accepted the suggestions of the revising committee.

There is a report that director Priyadarshan and producer Kumar Mangat are happy with the developments. Moreover, last week the examining committee watched the movie and had reportedly suggested about 30 dialogue cuts and was interested to give a U/A certificate to Akrosh. The director and producer did not agree with the examining committees rating and approached the revising committee.

The movie is set in the fictitious town of Jhanjhargaon, somewhere in North India and the time of the story is of 2001. The film starts with disappearance of three college students, who went to enjoy the Ramleela staged in their village. They are found to have been killed after some days.

Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna essay the role of two CBI officers, who have been sent to the village from Delhi for investigation of these mysterious deaths. After reaching the village, they come to that there is nexus between the local politicians and the police and they are involved in cast-related murders.
