Ajay Devgn to portray IAF wing commander in 'Bhuj The Pride of India'

Ajay Devgn tickled everyone's funny bone with his recent release 'Total Dhamaal' , the actor is set to portray Indian Air Force wing commander Vijay Karnik for his next titled 'Bhuj The Pride of India'. Sharing the news Ajay tweeted, "1971. Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik & team. 300 Brave Women. Reconstruction of a wrecked Indian Air Force airstrip. 'Bhuj- The Pride Of India'"

Backed by Bhushan Kumar, T-Series also made it official via his Tweet, he wrote, "Collaborating with @ajaydevgn once again, for #BhujThePrideOfIndia, based on  Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik. The film will be directed by #AbhishekDudhaiya @TSeries #KrishanKumar #SelectMediaHoldingsLLP #GinnyKhanuja @vajir"

Based on how Squadron leader Vijay Karnik with help of 300 local women from Gujarat reconstructed Indian Air Force airstrip, for safe landing of flights carrying army officers during the war phase against Pakistan. He was backed by 50 air force and 60 defence security cops personnel. 

Karnik himself while interacting with a leading news daily said, "We were fighting a war and if there had been any casualties of any of these women, it would have been a great loss. But I took the decision and it worked out. I had briefed them where they could take shelter if attacked and they followed it bravely. Also, I could only see Ajay Devgn essaying my character and I’m glad that he's on board."
