It was reported earlier that Mahesh Bhatt along with Bhushan Kumar are planning the remake of the Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt starrer, 1991 blockbuster 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin', and that Emraan Hashmi had been roped in to play the lead and fill Aamir's role in the sequel.

It was also reported that Mahesh's daughter and the teen heartthrob Alia Bhatt, was being considered to play Pooja's role in the sequel.

Based on recent reports, while Mahesh is quite inclined towards Alia playing the lead, Bhushan, who is also a producer on the project with Bhatt, wants Shraddha Kapoor to wear Pooja's hat.

Bhushan was quite emotional about 'Aashiqui 2' as a project, as the original 'Aashiqui' was one of the few movies which was truly cherished by his father late Gulshan Kumar. Now, with 'Aashiqui 2' being a super-duper hit, Shraddha has certainly turned out to be a lucky charm for Bhushan. Hence, he wants her to be the first choice for the 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin' remake.

Let's hope this does not turn into an ego war between Bhatt and Kumar, as both Alia or Shraddha would surely do full justice to the lead role.
