The American singer and her husband, rapper Swizz Beatz, became the proud parents of son Egypt Daoud Dean on Thursday. Egypt is their first child together, with Swizz having three kids from previous relationships.

Alicia and Swizz joyfully welcomed their first child, a son Egypt Daoud Dean on Thursday, Oct. 14 in New York City, the couples representative said in a statement.

Further details of the baby, such as his weight, have not been released.

Swizz took to Twitter soon after the birth, telling his fans how happy he was to be a father again. I'm so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww (sic)! he wrote.

Mary J. Blige also used the social networking site to send well wishes to the couple. I'm So excited 2 Congratulate my brother @therealswizzz and @Alicia keys on there New, baby, boy (sic)!!!!!!!" she wrote.

Alicia and Swizz married in July in an intimate ceremony on the Mediterranean island of Corsica. The wedding was star-studded, with U2 rocker Bono and Queen Latifah in attendance.
