Amanda Bynes has been formally charged with two counts of hit-and-run.
The 26-year-old actress is facing up to one year in jail, six months per misdemeanour, should she be convicted.
TMZ reports that the Los Angeles City Attorney's office recently reopened a case on a car accident involving Amanda that occurred in April following the star being accused of a second hit-and-run on August 4.
In April Amanda was accused of hitting a vehicle in a rental car while driving on the 101 Hollywood Freeway and then fleeing the scene.
Originally prosecutors dropped the April charges as they found there to be no independent witness to corroborate whether or not Amanda was actually at the scene of the crime.
Apparently the "smoking gun" for detectives during their investigation into the second incident in August was the fact that damages on the victim's car matches damages on Amanda's vehicle.
Amanda has maintained her innocence throughout the scandal, but her representatives have not yet commented on recent developments.
