Tying with him with equal number of nominations is Lady Antebellum. Following the rapper and country music group is the 16year old Justin Bieber with four nominations.
The nomination list did spring a surprise for many as Lady Gaga managed to get only two nominations, one in the Favorite Female Artist (Pop or Rock) where she will compete against Katy Perry and Ke$ha. The other nomination for Lady Gaga is for the Artist of the Year and will be challenged by Eminem, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha.
Eminems album Recovery helped him to secure nominations in both the genres of Rap/ Hip Hop and Pop or Rock. He was also nominated in the Favorite Male Artist in both the Pop or Rock and Rap/Hip Hop categories.
Usher, Katy Perry, Ke$ha and B.o.B got three nominations this year. Does this less nods for Lady Gaga signify that the Poker Face singer is burning out with time and becoming less popular? The nomination is based on combining the most played songs on TV and radio, streaming in internet, sales of the album and singles and the popularity of the artist.
