The ‘Lagaan’ director continues his association with the Bachchans…

After having directed bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the period film ‘Jodha Akbar’ and AB baby Abhishek Bachchan in yet another period film ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, now director Ashutosh Gowarikar is all set to direct Papa Amitabh Bachchan in his upcoming thriller.

Reportedly, the ace director is planning to make a thriller detective film with Bachchan playing the role of one of the detectives. Apparently, Amitabh will be playing a high-profile detective in this film and the story revolves around two detectives unraveling a dark mystery, but Ashutosh is unsure about casting the second detective as he is doubtful anyone can match up Amitabh’s acting skills and on-screen charisma.

The untitled film is set to go on floors from April 2012.
