(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mark Wahlberg couldnt stop apologising to Amy Adams while shooting The Fighter as the director made them do sloppy 80s music video kisses.
Mark portrays boxer Irish Micky Ward in the movie, while Amy is his partner Charlene Fleming. Charlene is as tough as her partner and has a dirty mouth, so Amy was amazed when director David ORussell offered her the part. She jumped at the chance, but was amazed by how much smooching there was when the cameras started rolling.
I read it and I was like, Charlene? Like, really? I mean I know I have it in me. But I didnt have to dress up like a bartender and go in and be like, Ill kick your ass, she explained.
David put kisses into every scene. He said, OK, now kiss, but, like, really kiss. Mark was so sweet; he kept saying, Sorry, because David didnt want beautiful or soft kisses, he wanted sloppy 80s music video kisses!
David also made Amy take lessons in boxing, as he was worried she didnt look like someone who could fight. Much as she assured him growing up with four brothers had made her tough, he wouldnt relent.
Amy is proud of her performance in the movie, and cant wait to see how it goes down with audiences.
When she isnt working, the 36-year-old loves nothing better than relaxing with her fianc Darren Le Gallo and their seven-month-old daughter Aviana. Becoming a mother has changed Amy more than anything else, and made her even more confident about her relationship.
Sometimes [the relationship] is crazy-making and it makes me want to, you know, jump off the roof of the building, she laughed to the British edition of InStyle magazine. But I think thats what its like with any relationship. At the start, Im like, I love you so much, you just love talking about your feelings, and now Im like, Really? We have to talk about how we feel? Ugh, honey. I believe in getting on with it. If you fall down you get up. You dont spend time talking about how it felt to fall.
Amy and Darren got engaged in 2008, but still dont know when they will tie the knot. She is considering getting someone to help arrange the nuptials, as she knows shell be furious if they dont go to plan.
I want everyone to be on picnic blankets and barefoot. I would love for blankets to be spread out on a big meadow and everybody sit down, she mused. (C) Cover Media
