Amy Winehouse's home for sale

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Amy Winehouse's house is being sold by her family with "great regret".

The late singer died in the North London abode in July 2011 after an alcohol binge. The star - who was 27 when she passed away - had battled drink and drug addictions throughout her life.

According to British newspaper The Sun, Amy's house is being sold by her father Mitch for 2.7million. It is currently on an estate agency's online site, described as a "substantial and impressive three double bedroom, three reception room semi-detached period villa with well-proportioned private gardens".

It was initially thought the residence would be kept by the Winehouse family, but apparently it is too much of a reminder of what they have lost.

"The Winehouses have decided to put the house on the market, with great regret. Amy loved that house but none of the family felt it appropriate that they should live in it. It was not practical to keep it empty while paying for its upkeep. It is a wonderful place and will be a happy family home for someone," a spokesperson for the family said.

The house in Camden became a shrine for fans soon after news of Amy's death became public last summer, with bottles of alcohol and packets of cigarettes accompanying the usual flower tributes.

The property was initially designated as the HQ for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity set up by her parents in her honour. (C) Cover Media
