Filmmaker Anil Ganguly passed away today i.e. on January 15, 2016 at his residence post a brief illness.
As per a source he breathed his last in the early hours of the day and was cremated at 1pm.
His films 'Kora Kagaz' and 'Tapasya' won National Awards. Besides these movies, he had given some notable films such as 'Saaheb', 'Khandaan', 'Humkadam', 'Balidan', 'Pyar Ke Kabil'.
He is survived by his daughter Rupali Ganguly and son Vijay Ganguly.
