(Cover) - EN Movies - Anthony Mackie thinks the sci-fi genre needs to go back to "freaking" out cinemagoers.

The 31-year-old US actor is famed for performances in pictures such as war film The Hurt Locker and sci-fi adventure The Adjustment Bureau.

Anthony is a huge fan of futuristic cinema, although he thinks nowadays movies involving extra-terrestrials aren't edgy enough.

"I love sci-fi, but the movies now are more like kiddie films," he laughed. "Sci-fi used to be about freaking you out."

Anthony received high praise for his role portraying Harry Mitchell in The Adjustment Bureau, which also starred Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. The movie about two lovers who are being kept apart by destiny involved filming in some of the Big Apple's most iconic landmarks.

"It was definitely a love letter to New York. We shot at every tourist attraction in the city. But yeah, a lot of bus chasing!" he told Total Film. (C) Cover Media
