Antonio Banderas: It's hard being a grown up

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Antonio Banderas sometimes wishes there was an "adult qualification".

The 50-year-old Spanish actor has enjoyed a hugely successful Hollywood career, and has a teenage daughter, Stella del Carmen, with wife Melanie Griffith.

Despite reaching many of the milestones expected of an adult, Antonio admits he sometimes feels immature. In a discussion with Empire magazine where his interviewer expressed a longing for some kind of "adult qualification", Antonio admitted he sometimes feels the same way.

"It's weird. But that's the way it works. Life. Sometimes I feel like that too," he smiled.

"I even talk to myself, being alone in a hotel room and I say, You are stupid!' and then you say, No, I am going to behave this way!' because you know how to do it and then you don't!

"And you say it again, Why?' And it's probably a lack of maturity probably you are right. You need to grow up!"

Antonio also touched on the more troubling aspects of being a thespian. The actor sometimes finds it frightening having to expose himself in films and on stage.

"That's right: you don't play the trumpet, you don't paint it's you," he mused.

"It happens to you, to everybody, when they say, I want to take a picture'. You think, I want to be better'. That's the thought, immediately, no?

"Imagine that, multiplied by 10,000. That's what happens. That's why it's so difficult to be so fresh and so natural in front of the camera." (C) Cover Media
