Ali Abbas Zafar is ready to wield the megaphone for his second directorial venture ‘Gunday’, starring Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra, under the Yash Raj Films banner.
"The film is titled 'Gunday' and it's a period film set between 1971 and 1988. The lead actors are Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh and they will be playing 'Bengalis' in the film. It's not a love triangle and the film will go on floors in December", said Zafar, whose directorial debut was 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'.
"The film is not a romance, at all," added the enthusiastic director.
When asked if Arjun and Ranveer have worked on their Bengali diction, Zafar said, "It's still a choice that I have to make. It's a commercial, Hindi film and I want to stick to my subject with honesty. As far as the 'Bengali diction' is concerned, we are still finalising that, we don't want to make it sound funny".
About the finalising of the actress, he said, "We are still debating on who our leading lady will be. Once it is finalised, we will make an official announcement".
