(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Arnold Schwarzenegger's estranged wife Maria Shriver has officially moved on and purchased a palatial mansion alone in West Los Angeles, it has been confirmed.

Maria is in the final stages of escrow on a deal with a real estate agent for a $10 million estate in affluent Brentwood, a coveted neighbourhood in Los Angeles. Details about the property are unknown, but according to website TMZ the dwelling is opulent.

Since their marriage proved unworkable at the beginning of this year Maria has been searching for a property without her soon-to-be ex-husband Arnold.

The successful six-month quest for a new residence is over for Maria, but the divorce proceedings between she and Arnold are still underway.

The former couple is determined to keep their separation amicable. Maria and Arnold have two minor children together and are planning to get joint custody.

Maria's new home is not far away from her former family residence, where she resided with Arnold. The two hope that the close proximity between Maria's new property and the old family dwelling that Arnold still inhabits will make shared custody simpler. (C) Cover Media
