A.R.Rahman Fails To Be Second Time Lucky At Golden Globes!

17th January 2011

January 17, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Academy Awards winner Indian music maestro A.R.Rahman, who bagged the Golden Globe Award last time for his tracks in Danny Boyles Slumdog Millionaire, failed to impress the juries this year. Rahman, who won double Oscars, last year, was nominated for the 68th Annual Golden Globes Awards along with other International musicians.

This year, the Golden Globe Award for the Best original score went to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Social Network. Rahman could not continue his success journey for the second time with another Danny Boyle movie 127 hours. The Padma Bhushan honoured composer competed in Golden Globes this year alongside Danny Elfman for Alice in Wonderland, Alexandre Desplat for The Kings Speech and Hans Zimmer for Inception.

Rahman composed some popular songs for 127 Hours, which include If I Rise in collaboration with pop star Dido. This track won him Best original song award at the 16th Critics Choice Movie awards. The musician received this award on last Friday.

The Mozart of Madras could not make it the top during the final announcement but received lots of accolades for the same track. However, it is itself an honour that he got nominated for the second time at the Golden Globe Awards.
