'Baahubali 2' becomes the first Indian film to pocket 1000 crores

S S Rajamouli's magnum opus film 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' which released on April 28, 2017 opened up with blockbuster collections at the box-office. The highest grosser of the year has now pocketed Rs. 1000 crores worldwide and is the first Indian film to earn this magical figure.

Ramesh Bala announced the news on his Twitter handle by tweeting, "With ₹ 800+ Cr in India and ₹ 200+ Cr in Overseas, #Baahubali2 becomes the 1st Indian movie to do ₹ 1000 Cr @ WW BO.. 👏👏#1000croreBaahubali."

Even filmmaker Karan Johar shared the news on his Twitter handle by tweeting, "The biggest milestone has been reached by the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema!!!! #1000croreBaahubali @ssrajamouli."

Meanwhile overwhelmed by the response actor Prabhas wrote an emotional note on his Facebook wall. The note reads-

"To All My Fans , a big hug to each one of you for all the love that you'll have showered on me. I have tried my best to go through a lot of the efforts that you all have put to express your affection for me from different parts of India and even overseas. I am truly overwhelmed with everything. The journey of Baahubali has been a long one but among the few things that I will take away from this, is all of you. Lots of love back to you all. A big thank you to SS Rajamouli sir for believing in me to carry his huge vision to the masses, giving me a once-in-a-lifetime character of Baahubali and making the entire journey so special."

We too congratulate each and every member of the team who were involved in the making of such a great film which crossed such a huge milestone.
