17th January 2012

Proving a long time rumour true, Nandamuri Balakrishna, the younger son of former Chief Minister and matinee idol N T Rama Rao, has announced his decision to enter active politics in 2014, during the Assembly elections to the State.

Speaking to reporters recently, he said, 'Besides campaigning for the TDP, I will also contest the elections in 2014. I have campaigned for the TDP in several elections. But this time I will contest the elections too.'

This has triggered a sense of excitement and expectations among his army of fans, who are eagerly waiting for the day when their favourite star would jump the political foray. 'I will follow our guru garu,' said Shankar Pothugunta, an ardent Balaiyaa fan.

Balakrishna, during his interaction with journalists, said that he was gearing up to contest from any constituency in the State, 'Be it Telangana, Rayalaseema, or Andhra, I am ready to contest the elections from the constituency decided by the party high command.'
