Priyanka Chopra plays an autistic character in Anurag Basu’s forthcoming film ‘Barfee’ where she stars alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz. In order to prepare for her role in ‘Barfee’, she attended a lot of workshops and visited many autistic centers. Director Anurag and Ranbir too took keen interest in her preparations.

However, in spite of all the preparations, Priyanka still feels the jitters, every time she portrays the role on screen. She says the dark life of the character is really an intruding factor and at times she finds it difficult to get into the character or get out of it as well.

According to Priyanka, to act as per the psyche of the character is emotionally draining. She says that it has been the toughest and the most difficult role of her career till date.

Priyanka further stated that her heart pours out for the autistic patients as some of them are mentally way ahead of the so called ‘Normal’ people but just a certain mental state makes them abnormal in world’s view which according to her is unfair.
