Bette Midler addresses Lady Gaga feud

28th October 2011

Bette Midler "loved" the recent Twitter "feud" she had with Lady Gaga.

Bette is preparing to put dozens of clothes from her wardrobe up for auction to benefit the New York Restoration Project. The famous Delores Delago mermaid costume, which was worn by Bette at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, is one of the items that will be sold off.

After scouring through her trousseau, Bette thought Lady Gaga may have copied her mermaid idea.

"We had a feud, which I loved," Bette laughed to Extra.

Bette took to Twitter to express her sentiments to Lady Gaga in August.

"Dear @ladygaga I've been doing singing mermaid in a wheelchair since 1980-You can keep the meat dress and the firecracker t*ts, mermaid's mine [sic]," the tweet read.

Bette has no feelings about the minor Twitter war she had with Lady Gaga in the summer. The pair are on good terms now.

"I'm not a good tweeter. I said a couple of things. I opened a can of worms," Bette explained.

"I wasn't irked at all! I thought it was hilarious. I was actually very flattered, and then we sort of put it to rest."

Monies toward the New York Restoration Project will help clean up parks around the city. The auction will take place on November 12. (C) Cover Media
