Beyonc Knowles has laughed off rumours about her "disgusting" pregnancy cravings.

The star announced she is expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z back in August. Since then there have been many stories covering the singer's progress, including speculation about the supposedly bizarre snacks she's been enjoying.

In an interview which is slated to air on Friday night on 20/20, Katie Couric addressed the rumours.

"I also read that you like ice cream with hot chilli sauce, is that true?" Katie enquired.

"No it is not," Beyonc replied. "I was on a plane and the flight attendant came and was like, 'I have your hot sauce and pickles and bananas.' I was like, 'That is absolutely disgusting, what are you doing?' He's like, 'I read it on the Internet.'"

Katie also asked about the sex of the baby and whether she should buy a pink or a blue gift.

The Crazy in Love singer kept that information private. Putting her fingers to her lips, she would only murmur, "Hmmmm."

In another segment the pair walked past New York's Roseland Ballroom.

Beyonc did four shows there earlier this year and just released a recording of them on DVD.

"When I was here it was raining and there were thousands of people in their coats and umbrellas waiting outside for hours," she remembered. "Which always feels a little overwhelming because I'm like, 'I hope I give them enough.' But everyone had a great time."
