(Cover) - EN Star Style - Beyonc Knowles created her fragrance Pulse because she wanted to help women feel confident.

Beyonc Knowles tested her new perfume on husband Jay-Z before giving her final approval.

The singer's new fragrance Beyonc Pulse is a follow-up to her last scent Heat. She was keen to ensure the new addition would go down well with fans, so put it through its paces before allowing it to be released.

One test involved her rapper husband Jay-Z, as she wanted to make sure the smell appealed to men and women.

"It's 100% husband-approved! It's important that the men like it because I think it's one of the main reasons we wear perfume," she explained to Company magazine. "I wore it for months before I gave the final approval to make sure it got the right compliments from men and women. And it did! It'll set those pulses racing."

Beyonc sees Pulse as a natural progression from Heat. While the first fragrance was all about being sexy and sensual, this one is aimed at making women feel good about themselves.

"I think one of the main reasons for wearing fragrance is to bring out your femininity and your sensuality," she said. "That's what Heat, my first fragrance, was all about it put you in a very sexy mood. But I wanted to add more energy to Pulse; I wanted it to be fun, upbeat and bring out the confidence in a woman. Making a woman feel sexy, strong and energised is really important to me." (C) Cover Media
