Big B stunned by production design

12th March 2014

In his upcoming film 'Bhoothnath Returns', Amitabh Bachchan is seen shaking a leg in a slum area with hordes of people.

Though the location was touted to be Asia's largest slum 'Dharavi', it was recently revealed that Big B shot at an expensive set that was recreated just for him.

The original idea was to shoot on real location (Dharavi), but considering the crowd and safety concerns, it was later decided that while the song will be shot there, the scenes involving Mr. Bachchan will be shot on sets where the area will be recreated.

Production Designer Wasiq Khan designed the whole set where he recreated Dharavi for Big B.

When Big B arrived on set, he was stunned with Wasiq's work as he was mighty impressed for the fact that the set looked real. He praised Wasiq openly as he believes that a set helps an actor perform better.

Wasiq has been famous for his work as he specializes in imbuing a lived-in feel and texture to the sets he creates.

Before the shoot with Big B, the team shot in Dharavi for three days with a Bachchan lookalike. Wide angle shots were taken so that his face would not be visible.

Later when Big B was called on sets to shoot the song, he first took a complete round of the set and then shot for the song.
