(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Miley Cyrus father is putting all his energies into trying to mend his family.

Singer Billy Ray Cyrus recently admitted his relationship with the teenage star has become strained and confessed fame had destroyed his family. Miley shot to recognition in Disney television show Hannah Montana, and Billy now regrets putting her in the public spotlight from such a young age.

Billy is currently in the process of getting a divorce from Mileys mother Tish and says he is doing his best to try to pull his loved ones closer together.

It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now," he told People.

During a magazine interview released earlier this month, Billy revealed he was worried about 18-year-old Miley and claimed she is surrounded by negative influences. He also said he is scared she will go off the rails after she was seen out partying in recent months and hit out at critics who blame him for her outrageous behaviour.

The singer now admits he regrets speaking so candidly and just wants to repair his relationship with Miley.

"[My comments were] explosive, and unintentionally so," Billy added, "My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier."

Billy spent time in Tennessee after filing for divorce from Tish last year. However, he is now making more of an effort to be in Los Angeles so he can see Tish and their 11-year-old daughter Noah.

"It is all a learning process, he explained. And we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues." (C) Cover Media
