Black Eyed Peas plan charity concert

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The Black Eyed Peas are said to be planning a summer concert inspired by Simon & Garfunkel.

The American hip-hop collective comprises of frontman will.i.am, lead singer Fergie and rappers apl.de.ap and Taboo.

The band is considered one of the worlds most innovative groups, although their latest idea is said to have taken inspiration from soft rock act Simon & Garfunkel. The duo - consisting of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel are well known for 1981's The Concert in Central Park, which attracted around 500,000 fans to New Yorks Central Park.

According to reports, The Black Eyed Peas are now eager to recreate a similar scenario with a summer show at the iconic New York green spot.

"The concert has been set up with Mayor Bloomberg's office. They want it to rival the concert that Simon & Garfunkel did in Central Park," a source told New York Post.

The concert is expected to take place on June 9 at Central Parks Great Lawn, with proceeds believed to be going to charity.
