(Cover) - EN Fashion - Blake Lively‏ says she had an “insane” time when she went to dinner with Karl Lagerfeld.

The 23-year-old actress has become one of America’s biggest fashion icons since she shot to fame playing Serena van der Woodsen in the US television series Gossip Girl.

Blake is regularly seen in the front row at top catwalk shows and has struck up firm friendships with some of the most important people in the fashion industry, such as American Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld.

Blake says one of her fondest fashion memories is attending a dinner party at Karl’s house when she was shooting Gossip Girl in Paris.

“So I went to dinner with Karl Lagerfeld and we got to spend a lot of priceless time together. Oh my gosh, riding around in Karl Lagerfeld’s Rolls-Royce with the top down. Insane!” gushed the starlet in an interview with the British edition of Marie Claire magazine.

Blake met Karl thanks to fashion guru Anna, who Blake explains also introduced her to a number of iconic designers.

“I was speaking with Anna Wintour and we were just talking about different fashion houses and I said, ‘I love Chanel’, and she said, ‘You should come with me to the show’,” beamed Blake.

“I also said I loved Dior. She said ‘OK, well I'll take you to the Chanel and Dior shows and we'll meet with Karl and John [Galliano] afterwards’.”

Blake insists she never seeks professional fashion advice as she enjoys using her clothes to reflect her own personality.

“I've always loved fashion. That's why I don't use a stylist. Number one, it's such an expression of self,” explained Blake. (C) Cover Media
