The 23-year-old American actress is known for her portrayal of Serena van der Woodsen in US teen drama Gossip Girl, and has made a major impact on the fashion industry since her rise to fame. Last December it was announced she would be the latest face of iconic French fashion house Chanel, where Karl Lagerfeld is creative director.

Blake adores style, although admits she has no plans to follow in the footsteps of Victoria Beckham or Dannii Minogue and launch her own clothing line.

I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I? she told WWD. I want to bow down to them and be a representative for them if theyll have me.

Blakes lack of ambition in the realm of designing is surprising considering her background. The pretty star spent her childhood sewing and hunting for vintage gowns with her mother.

Wed always go down to the garment district with my father. We would go to really cool vintage stores or boutiques and wed get a bunch of clothes and wed sew a lot, she smiled. (C) Cover Media
