Bollywood's most-celebrated filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar came together in the form of 'Bombay Talkies' to pay a special ode to Indian Cinema that completes 100 years this year.
The promo of the film has already been making waves, and the fact that the movie is one of its kind efforts in Bollywood, it has generated a huge buzz across the media and the fans. And this has led to the film receiving one of the highly talked about coveted honors.
'Bombay Talkies' has been chosen for the main screening at the 66th Cannes Film Festival that begins shortly after its release. While the film will be released on May 3rd, it will be screened at Cannes on May 19th.
Incidentally, last year it was Anurag Kashyap's 'Gangs of Wasseypur' that was chosen for screening at the Cannes, and this time yet again another Indian film has caught their attention.
All the four filmmakers are excited to represent India on the international platform for the film which is special for more than one reason.
