(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bret Michaels will have heart surgery in January.
The Poison frontman was diagnosed with a subarachnoid haemorrhage, which is a stroke that causes bleeding in the fluid-filled areas at the base of the brain, earlier this year. He then suffered a warning stroke and subsequently had intensive rehab.
Despite his ailments, Bret insisted on going on tour shortly after leaving hospital. He is still playing his Roses & Thorns series of shows, but will take time away from the spotlight in the new year to have an operation.
Maybe sometimes he gets a little tired easier and on occasion he'll get a headache, but that's when he knows it's time to rest," Brets spokesperson said when asked how he was faring. "He'll rest up, have surgery, take some time off, hopefully take a family vacation and get back on the road touring and promoting his upcoming book."
Bret needs an operation to repair a hole in his heart. It was found after he had the stroke, even though it has probably been there since he was born.
The 47-year-old is enjoying being on tour, and has been overwhelmed with the support hes received from his fans. He is trying to take things easily to aid his recovery, and is convinced hell be fighting fit in no time.
Is he 100 percent? No, but he's in good spirits, he's having fun on the road, he loves his fans and has always said music heals him, the representative told RadarOnline. He said that there are times when, of course, he worries but he has great people around him and he's very cautious. (C) Cover Media
