Britney Spears is reportedly "almost ready to sign the contract for her to become a judge on X Factor."
The 30-year-old pop star visited court yesterday with her father Jamie Spears and her fianc Jason Trawick.
Britney was thought to be seeking sanction from the judge presiding over her conservatorship to become a panel judge on the American TV talent competition.
The justice also wanted to see if Britney was fit for the role.
"Britney's team is almost ready to sign the contract for her to become a judge on X Factor," a source told Radar Online.
"Before the contract is signed, the lawyers needed to get approval from Judge Reva Goetz, as all business transactions, contracts, etc., need to get formal approval. Judge Goetz wanted to talk to Britney in person to make sure this is something that she wanted to do, and that she was capable of doing."
Judge Goetz was confident in Britney and happily provided consent.
"The judge was extremely impressed and Britney is very, very excited to become a part of Simon Cowell's show," the source revealed. "The judge signed off on the deal."
This deal will potentially garner Britney tens of millions of dollars.
"Under terms of the contract, Britney will be paid around $15 million a year," the source explained. "She will travel out of state for auditions, as long as it doesn't interfere with her custodial time with her sons. The boys will be allowed to come to the set whenever Britney wants them there. Her sons are her number one priority. Jason has been heavily involved in the contract talks."
Other famous faces linked to the X Factor panel include Beyonc Knowles, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson.
On February 22, Simon revealed the new judging line-up would be unveiled in a few weeks.
