Caine loves emotional' Disney films

27th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Sir Michael Caine finds Disney movies have the ability to make him "cry [his] eyes out" or "laugh [his] head off".

The 78-year-old British actor may be best known for his tougher roles in iconic pictures such as The Italian Job, although he's also demonstrated his soft side voicing characters such as Finn McMissile in Disney Pixar animated comedy Cars 2.

Michael has been reminiscing about his favourite Disney moments, admitting that some of the company's most iconic cartoons often leave him in an extreme emotional state.

"My memories were Snow White and Bambi in those days, I remember crying my eyes out when Bambi's mother died in the forest and laughing my head off at the Seven Dwarfs," he gushed.

Michael has been considering the topic in aid of the Million Disney Memories campaign, which aims to help Britain's Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. The campaign has a unique twist, with Disney fans encouraged to recount their favourite memories. When 1,000,000 memories have been received, Disney will donate 1 million to the charity.

Michael enjoyed animations from a young age. He admits one of his first idols came in the form of Mickey Mouse.

"I grew up with cartoons. My favourite Disney villain would have to be the wicked witch from Snow White, I think she's great and my favourite Disney hero is Mickey Mouse, he was my first hero and my favourite," he beamed. (C) Cover Media
