Michael is one of the UKs most respected hairdressers and has worked on the tresses of stars such as Keira Knightley and Lily Cole. The hair expert who has his own salon in Londons Shaftesbury Avenue - has revealed the hottest trend for the upcoming season is a versatile bun.

Buns, up dos. All sorts of buns, loose ones tight ones, even ballet type ones or messy ones twisted buns, he told Cover Media when asked what he thought the biggest hair trend for this season will be.

The hair guru says that re-creating the sassy style is easy to do. He also praised the bun for its versatility, as it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

Basically just put your hair in a ponytail, twist it and wrap hair around the base of the ponytail, then pin it - really easy, he explained. Or if you want a messy one, backcomb the ponytail first, or if you want to do more of a twisty one then just take small sections of the ponytail and twist them individually. (C) Cover Media
