Charlie Sheens wife feeling humiliated

3rd November 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen humiliated his estranged wife Brooke Mueller by filing for divorce, her lawyer has said.

The actor lodged papers to end their two-and-a-half-year marriage earlier this week, with Brooke quickly retaliating with her own paperwork. Both sides cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, but they did not agree on custody of their 18-month-old twins Bob and Max. Charlie wants joint physical and legal custody, but Brooke primary physical custody with Charlie getting visiting rights.

The pair agree they have been separated since Christmas Day 2009, when they had a fight which saw Charlie arrested and eventually pleading guilty to domestic violence. He spent time in rehab as part of a plea agreement.

Brookes attorney Sorrell Trope has now claimed the couple signed a property settlement deal in May, at which time they agreed not to file for divorce for another year. Brooke apparently consented to the deal as she was keen not to make trouble for Charlie, who was dealing with the legal fallout from the December incident.

Charlie humiliated Brooke, Sorrell told TMZ, explaining she wasnt told he was filing for divorce. Last month, Charlie was hospitalised after being found apparently drunk and naked in his New York hotel room. He has denied reports he was on drugs at the time, and Brooke has stood by him making his decision to end their marriage more upsetting to her.

Trope notes that in Charlie's divorce papers, he suggests the couple's two kids have been living with him. Trope says it's not true - the kids have been living with Brooke, reports TMZ.

Charlies manager Mark Burg has shot down Sorrells claims, insisting they are totally without merit.

Charlie tried to reach out to Brooke and left her a message before filing for divorce. It's a shame that this ambulance chaser is trying to drum up more business because this divorce was finalised and agreed upon six months ago, he told the site. Shouldn't everyone involved be more concerned about the two young children?

Following the New York incident Charlie has now gone back to work, shooting his TV series Two and a Half Men. He arrived on set yesterday, and cast and crew were excited to see him. There were lots of fist pumps and hugs, but no discussion of his hospitalisation or divorce. (C) Cover Media
