January 13, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): The nominations for NAACP Image Awards 2011 have been declared on Wednesday, January 12. The list includes the names of many promising newcomers as well as veterans.
Rihanna, Usher and Kanye West are among the established musicians who got nominations this year. Rihanna bagged two nominations in Outstanding Female Artist category and the other in the Outstanding Duo category for her and Eminems Love The Way You Lie.
Kanye West and Usher bagged nominations in the Outstanding Album and Outstanding Male Artist categories. In the Outstanding new artist category, we have names like little wonder Willow Smith, Bruno Mars and Nicki Minaj.
Willow will also fight against the musicians like Maxwell and Alicia Keys in the Best Music Video category.
The four lead actresses of Four Colored Girls have got nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Halle Berry of Frankie and Alice has been nominated for the Outstanding Actress. Janet Jackson is also competing in this category.
Outstanding Supporting Actor category has got the nominations of actor Michael Ealy, Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, Idris Elba and Justin Timberlake.
The nominations for TV, music and literature also include the names of Kimberly Elisa, 50 Cent, Sanaa Lathan, Smokey Robinson, Affion Crockett and Columbus Short.
Following his sister Willow, Jaden Smith has also got nomination for his wonderful performance in The Karate Kid in Outstanding Actor category.
On March 4, the winners will be announced at a gala event.
