(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Noth shocked celebrity diners in a New York restaurant by performing an impromptu set with Ronnie Wood.

The Sex and the City actor entered the exclusive Da Marino restaurant on West 49th Street with the Rolling Stones guitarist as other stars looked on with open mouths.

While Ronnie set to work on the piano, 55-year-old Chris grabbed a nearby microphone and treated diners to his surprisingly silky vocals.

Patrons in the packed dining room, including Mary Kate Olsen, night-life impresario Steve Walter and legendary DJ Carol Miller were shocked by Noth's voice and the fact that he knew all the lyrics, reports the New York Post.

As the performance went on, Chris revealed his love and knowledge of 70s music.

The dark-haired actor, who is famed for his cool, charming demeanour in the hit SATC series, showed a different side to himself while he blasted out song after song from the decade.

The multi-skilled actor has been linked to poetry writing but it is the first time he has shown off his talent for singing so openly in front of a crowd.

However, he has made no secret of his passion for music he co-owns The Cutting Room, an intimate live performance venue that opened in New York in 1999. (C) Cover Media
