Bridesmaids actor Chris O'Dowd needed a "quick fix" of whiskey before hosting the 2011 British Independent Film Awards.
Chris used his charm and quick wit to ensure the London event went swimmingly on Sunday night.
However, the actor admitted he was terrified before he took to the stage.
"I'm bricking it dude," he told Cover Media. "I feel like we're gonna have a fun time and when I say we' I mean everybody but me."
The event was sponsored by Moet & Chandon Champagne.
Chris cautioned his guests about pronouncing the name wrong and admitted he would be steering clear of the sparkling wine while he was presenting.
"We've got some dancing, we've got a lot of great films to celebrate and we've got a lot of free Champagne. Although they will shot you in the mouth if you pronounce it wrong," he quipped.
"I'll be holding back on the Champagne, but guzzling the whiskey, I need the quick fix."
The actor also spoke about his future projects.
Chris will reunite with his Bridesmaids co-star Kristen Wiig for his new movie Friends with Kids, which also stars Megan Fox and Jon Hamm.
The funny man will then appear in the Judd Apatow movie This is Forty, which again stars Megan Fox and Jason Segel.
"I've got a good few projects happening, I've done three or four films that will come out next year," he explained. "I've done a lot with people from Bridesmaids we did a film called Friends with Kids. I've got another film with Judd Apatow called This is Forty which is a spin-off of Knocked Up. So loads of great stuff, I think."
