Christian Siriano hails dramatic Hendricks gown

24th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Christian Siriano has no qualms about the dress Christina Hendricks wore to the 2010 Golden Globes, calling it a dramatic moment.

The Mad Men actress was panned for the peach gown she wore to last years ceremony, which was designed by Project Runway winner Christian. The floor-length gown showed off Christinas ample cleavage and boasted a giant ruffle down the front, which fashion critics said only drew attention to Christinas curvaceous figure.

She was criticised for looking too large in the gown, but Christian stands by his creation. He claims many now realise the actress was one of the best dressed at the event.

Christina Hendricks is one of my favs. It was a dramatic moment, last years Golden Globes. I loved it, she loved it, she looked amazing, he explained. Its interesting its very subjective. Now, when these girls are on the carpet I think everyone is looking for something to be wrong with it and then later on they realised she looked pretty good.

Christian has dressed many high-profile figures since winning the reality TV design contest, with Lady Gaga and Rihanna particular favourites. He encouraged Rihanna to experiment with colour, which he believes is part of the reason she has embraced a new look in recent months.

I dressed Rihanna and she looked amazing, it was a blue oceanic print with a huge side flounce. It was very different for her because it was when she was very dark. It was a little push for her, he told CocoPerez. (C) Cover Media
