Christina Aguilera eyes country duet

17th April 2012

Christina Aguilera wants to turn her hand to country music for a duet with Blake Shelton.

Christina is best known for her pop songs including Genie in a Bottle and Ain't No Other Man, while Blake is a star of the country genre with hits such as Austin.

After working together as mentors on the US version of talent show The Voice, it seems Christina is ready to collaborate with Blake.

"@blakeshelton Now we need to team up for a country duet Blake!! I'm down!! Let's go!," she wrote on Twitter.

The 31-year-old star performed her chart topping track Fighter on last night's episode of the talent show. She wore a sexy bustier, a pair of hot pants and a cowboy hat to belt out the tune with her remaining protgs Chris Mann, Ashley De La Rosa, Jesse Campbell and Lindsey Pavao.

Blake, 35, also took the stage to sing his hit Heartache Tonight along with his team, RaeLynn, Jordis Unga, Erin Willett and Jermaine Paul.

Later that night, he eliminated Jordis, while Xtina sent home Jesse.

"That. Just. Happened!!!!! @TheRealXtina I'm speechless.....," Blake said on his Twitter page, following Christina's performance.

Adam Levine, also a coach on the talent show, performed with his Maroon 5 bandmates and Wiz Khalifa to debut their new single, Payphone.
