Yesterday we reported that Sonakshi Sinha has been approached to make her South debut opposite Superstar Rajinikanth. However, Rajini was hesitant to romance his friend Shatrughan Sinha's daughter (Read More).

But now, looks like the superstar has gotten over the intital hesitation, as sources confirm that Sonakshi has been signed for the film.

While other South actresses were also being considered, Sonakshi has bagged the role for her big South debut.

The actress will start shooting for the film from July, after she completes her Bollywood film 'Tevar' opposite Arjun Kapoor.

Confirming the same Sonakshi told a leading daily, "I am finally making my debut in the South. I could not have asked for a better project to start with; it's a wonderful story and it's opposite the one and only Rajini sir. I am looking forward to expanding my horizons with this project."

The film will be extensively shot in Mysore and the makers are aiming for a Diwali release.
