December 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The ace director Ron Howard has been toying with the idea of adapting Stephen Kings book The Dark Tower into a movie for 2013. Though its three years to go before the project will see the lights of the theatres only if it gets a green signal from studio of Universal Pictures and NBC Universal Television Entertainment, already names are being tossed for the project.
It is rumored that Ron is seeing the things as The Dark Hour fans who believes that Viggo Mortenson will do justice to the part of Roland the Ginslinger. But while the Lord Of the Rings actor is in the running for the role, some other names are also suggested. It is also rumored that the two other hotties of Hollywood Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig might team up for the film.
Ron revealed that his idea and the way to approach the book and turn it into a film have been appreciated by King himself. Howard also stated that he is quite challenged to take up the project and cannot stop thinking about it. Already the studios have planned to adapt the seven book series into two television series and three films, so making The Dark Hour will be a challenge for the Oscar winning director.
