Daniel Radcliffe: Fame doesn't rule me

2nd January 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Daniel Radcliffe thinks it is important not to get "suckered in" by celebrity.

The 22-year-old is best known for playing the title character in all eight of the Harry Potter films.

Although the actor has loved the experience, he admits being a celebrity can be hard to cope with.

"Ultimately, I've had ten years of amazing training - amazing life, you know?" he said in an interview with THR. "And I'm still going. So, you know, I think that if you just keep the focus on the work and don't get suckered in by that stuff, it's possible to maintain."

Daniel still struggles when he is asked for his opinion about subjects that are completely unrelated to him and his career.

The star is worried that his comments will be taken out of context if he starts expressing his views.

"You shouldn't care about my opinion; I am not informed," he admitted. "Just because I am 'somebody' doesn't mean I am qualified or even interesting. Like, people say about actors spouting their political views and things like that, it's fine if actors want to talk about that stuff, but don't expect people to take your opinion seriously, you know?"
