Ace Sandalwood star Darshan was back in jail in Bengaluru on Wednesday for assaulting his wife. He has now moved to the high court for bail after two lower courts rejected his bail plea.

He was arrested by Vijayanagara police on September 9 on the charge of assaulting his wife, and was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. Soon he was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases for asthma.

However, it was back to square one for Darshan, as the sessions court rejected his bail plea on Tuesday. The doctors at the hospital had certified that his health was back to normal.

Darshan was arrested Sep 9 after Vijayalakshmi gave a five-page complaint to police detailing the beating she had suffered.

She said Darshan also pointed a revolver at her and threatened to kill her and the couple`s three-year-old son Vineesh. But within hours she changed her statement to say she was injured from a fall in the bathroom and not due to any beating by Darshan.
