(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David and Victoria Beckham are among the guests invited to the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The celebrity British couple were among the first to pass on their well-wishes to Prince William and Kate last week when the news of their impending marriage broke, and the stylish pair are said to be thrilled with their invite.

Footballer David, 35, became good friends with Prince William when the pair teamed up to front Englands bid to host footballs 2018 World Cup recently.

When he heard that William had proposed to Kate on a private holiday in Kenya, the international star instantly contacted his new royal friend to pass on his congratulations.

David texted Wills as soon as he heard, and Wills told him an invite was on its way. David and Victoria were both thrilled and cant wait, a Royal source told British newspaper The Sunday Mirror.

The famous couple will join other celebrity elite such as British singers Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney at the much-anticipated event to be held at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011.

However while it is unlikely that no one would turn down the offer of attending such a prestigious occasion, the official guest list detailing how many other famous people will be attending the royal wedding is not expected to be announced until the end of February next year.
