David Arquette reportedly wants to give his relationship with Courteney Cox "another try."

The couple separated in October 2010 after 11 years of marriage.

But Star magazine reports that now the actor has split from girlfriend Christina McLarty, he wants to focus on bringing his family back together again.

"Deep down, David hoped that if he got clean and sober, Courteney would take him back, but it just didn't happen," a source told the publication.

"He figured that she must be seeing someone else, although she didn't discuss it with him, so he decided to move on."

David has a seven-year-old daughter Coco with Courteney and the trio has continued to enjoy quality time as a family despite the split.

After Courteney revealed to Howard Stern that she had not "had a man since David" he is open to trying to make things work.

"The truth is that if there was even a chance that he and Courteney could get back together, David never would have gotten serious with Christina," the insider added.

"He's hoping that if he takes it slow with Courteney, she will agree to give their relationship another try."
