Decks cleared for 'Vishnuvardhana' title

10th May 2011
The multi-faceted Dwarakish finally has his say, as after bravely facing all the short-comings, he has achieved the title that he aspired for. Dwarakish faced the storm of opposition from the Vishnuvardhan family and hurdles placed by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), he is now all set to name his new film 'Vishnuvardhana'. The success has come with condition that he will have to make a slight change to the title. The only change will be the addition of a prefix, which will either be Veera or Raja.

The trouble around the title started when Dwarakish named the film after actor Vishnuvardhan. The late actor's wife, Bharati Vishnuvardhan, expressed a strong objection towards it by saying it was a strategy by the producer to cash in the actor's popularity. Dwarakish stated that it was his way of paying tribute to his old friend. The KFCC (Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce) later added to the trouble, by rejecting the title.

In such a scenario, the shooting for the film with Sudeep in the lead, continued without any hassles.  Meanwhile, it was expected that Dwarakish would move court to get the title in his favor. The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) has played the role of his savior, as they have given the nod to the title.

"The film will be wrapped up soon and we are planning to release sometime in August,"Dwarakish said. With the major hurdle getting over, it is to be seen if Vishnuvardhan's family will oppose the title or accept SIFCC's (South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce) announcement.
